Behavioral healthcare for facility-based and community settings across California.

Highland Behavioral Health provides behavioral health services across multiple counties in California. Our work centers on the places where care is most needed: residential facilities, recuperative care programs, and independent living settings. We partner with operators and county agencies to make sure mental health treatment is integrated into everyday life, not separated from it.

To provide comprehensive care and support, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, counselors, and nurses work with our clients. Together, they bring decades of experience with facility-based care and community-based programs. That experience allows us to navigate county systems, meet documentation requirements, and deliver care that is both clinically sound and practical for real-world settings.

Who We Serve

We focus on populations that often face barriers to care: individuals returning from incarceration, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, residents with co-occurring substance use disorders, and older adults with complex behavioral health needs. Each group brings unique challenges, and our team is structured to respond, whether that means de-escalation on the unit, benefits coordination for housing, or relapse-prevention planning.

By operating near and inside RCFEs, ARFs, recuperative care centers, and independent living environments, we deliver care in the settings where people are already trying to stabilize. That model ensures higher engagement, fewer missed appointments, and smoother transitions to long-term stability.

How We Serve

Highland Behavioral Health covers the full range of behavioral health needs. We provide diagnostic evaluations, therapy, medication management, and case coordination. For individuals with substance use disorders, we connect clinical treatment with recovery supports and, when indicated, medication-assisted treatment.

Our work often ties directly into County and CalAIM programs. We deliver the behavioral health piece that makes various kinds of residential programs, rehabilitation programs, Housing Navigation, Enhanced Care Management, Day Habilitation, Community Transition, and Recuperative Care effective. By embedding our clinicians adjacent to these programs, we close the gap between a person’s housing or medical support and their mental health treatment.

Facilities need consistent clinical presence. We’re able to participate in case reviews, coordinate care plans with administrators, and remain available for urgent concerns such as hospital discharges or behavioral crises. The focus is on making sure residents receive the right level of care while facilities have reliable support behind them.
